Questions

Frequently asked questions

We help you find each other. What happens next, you arrange together.

What is MySeniorMentor?

A people connection platform. People with experience, knowledge, skills and time create a profile so others looking for help, knowledge or company can find them.

What does MySeniorMentor do?

We help with discovery, viewing profiles and making first contact. We also moderate profiles and reviews.

What happens after I contact someone?

You continue directly with each other. What you decide to do — if anything — is up to you.

Does MySeniorMentor arrange appointments?

No. Availability on profiles is only indicative. You agree the actual time together.

Does MySeniorMentor process payments?

No. MySeniorMentor does not handle payments between users. Anything you arrange afterwards is up to you.

Does MySeniorMentor determine prices?

No. Whether help is free, paid, reciprocal or voluntary is something you agree yourselves after contact.

Can companies create mentor profiles?

Not at the moment. Profiles are for individuals sharing their own experience. Mentioning previous work experience is of course fine.

Are mentors employees of MySeniorMentor?

No. Mentors participate in their personal capacity. They are not employees, contractors or representatives of MySeniorMentor. We do not assign work to them.

Does MySeniorMentor guarantee mentors?

No. We review profiles before publication, but approval does not mean we guarantee someone’s suitability. Always use your own judgement.

Are activities insured by MySeniorMentor?

No. Depending on what you do together, consider whether insurance is needed — this is something you arrange yourselves.

How do reviews work?

Only people who connected with a mentor through MySeniorMentor can leave a review. See “How reviews work” for details.

What should I discuss before meeting someone?

What you would like help with, what the other person will and will not do, timing, any compensation, and where you meet. See our Safety page for tips.
